ChatGPT

Virtual Mail is available as an app in ChatGPT. Install it from the ChatGPT app directory to manage your virtual mailbox directly in a conversation. You don’t need to configure a server URL or generate an API key.

Open Virtual Mail in ChatGPT

Install the app

1. Open the Virtual Mail app listing in ChatGPT, or search for Virtual Mail in the ChatGPT app directory.
2. Click Connect.
3. Sign in to LegalZoom when prompted and approve the access ChatGPT requests.
4. Start a new conversation and ask about your mail, for example: “What arrived in my mailbox this week?”

The app uses the same OAuth sign-in described in Authentication. It can only reach the mailboxes your LegalZoom account already has access to.

Staying connected

ChatGPT asks you to sign in to LegalZoom again at least every 30 days, even if you use Virtual Mail daily. See token expiration.

What you can do

The ChatGPT app gives you the same capabilities as any other MCP client. You can find and read mail, organize your inbox, request scans and shreds, and track shipments and deposits. See What you can do and the Tools Reference for details.

Caution

Some actions, such as shredding, can’t be undone once carried out. A pending shred can be cancelled within the 7-day grace period. Review what ChatGPT is about to do before you approve an action that changes your mailbox.

Disconnect

To remove access, disconnect Virtual Mail from your app settings in ChatGPT.
